Failure of Public Sector Enterprises: A Case Study of SAARC Countries

Public| Printed: Yes

This paper examines the failure of public sector enterprises (PSEs) in South Asia. One culprit of this failure is poor corporate governance. Data from a panel of six countries from South Asia shows that governance affects the performance of PSEs throughout the region. Therefore, the authors argue that better governance will lead to better PSE performance.
