Determinants of Bank Profitability: Company-Level Evidence from Nigeria
Public|
Printed: Yes
This paper explores different company-level determinants in bank productivity in Nigeria. Data is analyzed from 33 banks from 2000 to 2004. This analysis shows determinants such as capital size, the extent of ownership concentration and other factors are positively correlated with bank productivity in Nigeria. Other determinants such as deposit liabilities, ownership, and other factors are not significant. The relationship between profitability and bank risk is unclear.
