This paper analyzes public financial institution trends in industrialized economies. The authors recognize the value in studying these trends in order to better understand the best practices of governance and oversight. The authors conclude that, while this information is helpful, a more nuanced approach is needed to account for differences in the institutional environment, regulatory efficiency and government effectiveness of developing countries- more research should be conducted.
