The Estimates Committee, in their 73rd Annual Report (1959-60), had recommended that in addition to the individual annual report of each enterprise laid on the Table of both the Houses of Parliament, a separate comprehensive report should be submitted to the Parliament indicating the Government’s total appraisal of the working of Public Enterprises. Accordingly, since 1960-61, Government of India has been bringing out annually a consolidated report on the performance of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). The present Report is the 57th Report in the series.
