An Overview of Central Public Sector Enterprises in India

This paper provides an in-depth overview of the state of central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) in India. India has leveraged CPSEs as a means to achieve economic development, therefore their success cannot be measured by traditional financial calculations. The success of CPSEs must be measured by how effectively they achieve their socioeconomic objectives. Different issues pertaining to CPSEs in India are discussed, as are their contributions to Indian society.
